About the position

The position at Associated Bank involves overseeing the teller area to ensure efficient and friendly customer service. The role includes supervising tellers, training staff, and ensuring operational integrity while promoting a positive customer experience. The individual will also be responsible for expanding customer relationships and may act in the Branch Manager's absence.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure efficient and friendly service for customers.
  • Direct day-to-day operational activities of the teller area.
  • Supervise tellers to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Train staff on operational issues and policies.
  • Make judgment decisions and coach for referrals.
  • Expand and deepen customer relationships by identifying needs and matching them with resources.
  • Demonstrate all customer channels including digital technology.
  • Oversee operational integrity of the retail office in coordination with the Branch Manager.
  • Operate a teller window as needed.
  • Balance teller cash, order cash, and manage cash vault balancing.
  • Schedule teller staff and order supplies.
  • Complete daily and monthly reports.
  • Provide regular observation and coaching feedback to tellers.
  • Support branch goals by coaching tellers in identifying customer opportunities.
  • Participate in skill builder sessions and training.
  • Assist in the interview and selection process of candidates.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to tellers on operating procedures.
  • Monitor regulatory and compliance changes and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain proficiency in all products and services offered at the office.
  • Sell new accounts by gathering customer information and recommending solutions.
  • Conduct office security procedures and cash audits.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent education and experience.
  • 2-4 years of demonstrated customer service skills in a retail environment.
  • Computer experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a supervisory role in a retail banking environment.
  • Knowledge of banking products and services.
