About the position

The Teller Supervisor at Wintrust Financial is responsible for overseeing the teller staff and managing all branch functions related to customer transactions and routine banking services. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to effectively motivate staff and ensure compliance with banking policies and procedures. The position also involves identifying cross-sell opportunities and participating in the hiring and training of teller staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise teller staff and manage branch functions related to customer transactions.
• Oversee operating procedures and practices within the teller department.
• Make approvals and exceptions to policy as needed and report potential fraud to management.
• Proactively solve operational issues and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
• Recognize potential cross-sell opportunities and coach staff to identify these opportunities.
• Perform routine monthly audits and track daily/monthly sales.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of teller staff.
• Complete performance reviews for teller staff.
• Assign work schedules to ensure efficient department function.
• Participate in community events as required.

Requirements

• Previous teller experience required.
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience preferred, ideally within a financial institution.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Availability to work all shifts including Saturdays.
