About the position

The Teller position at the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) in Kansas City, MO, is responsible for managing and accounting for all funds received and deposited daily as part of commissary store operations. This role involves various cash handling tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, and maintaining compliance with Department of Defense financial management standards.

Responsibilities

• Counts change fund, sets up cash drawers, and verifies the accuracy of each drawer.
• Turns on the master cash control processor and sets up the office terminal(s) for the day's business.
• Issues change to cashiers and operates cash register as needed.
• Periodically checks cash register drawers to prevent extensive fund accumulation.
• Bags and seals cash and checks, makes up change list for secure pick up and deposit.
• Verifies cashier records against total of change funds and sales records.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
• Meet minimum age requirement.
• Must be registered with or exempt from Selective Service (for males born after 12-31-1959).
• Ability to obtain and maintain clearance eligibility based on background investigation.
• One year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work experience, or two years of education above high school, or a combination of both.
