About The Position

The Teller position at the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) involves managing and accounting for all funds received and deposited daily in a commissary store. Requirements

• One year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position.
• Two full years of successfully completed education above high school at an accredited business, secretarial, technical school, junior college, college, or university.
• Combination of experience and education that meets the minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Count change fund, set up cash drawers, and verify the accuracy of each drawer.
• Turn on the master cash control processor and set up the office terminal(s) for the day's business.
• Issue change to cashiers.
• Operate cash register as needed.
• Periodically check cash register drawers to prevent extensive fund accumulation.
• Bag and seal cash and checks, and prepare change list for secure pick up and deposit.
• Verify cashier records against total of change funds and sales records.
