About the position

The Teller position at the Department of Defense is crucial for managing and accounting for all funds received and deposited daily as part of commissary store operations. The Teller will operate an electronic checkout system to accurately record unit prices, total customer purchases, and provide change. Additionally, the position requires performing various duties related to handling, preparing, and maintaining stock levels of grocery and produce items. The Teller will also be responsible for reviewing stock levels and gathering inventory data to maintain the Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO) system, ensuring that the commissary is well-stocked and operational. Furthermore, the role includes preparing and maintaining various documents necessary for ordering commissary items, reconciling invoices, and submitting requisitions. Maintaining security, safety, and sanitation practices and procedures is also a critical aspect of this position.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
  • Meet the minimum age requirement.
  • Males born after 12-31-1959 must be registered with or exempt from Selective Service.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain clearance eligibility based on background investigation.
  • Must be able to perform physical requirements such as standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, and climbing for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry money boxes or bags.

Nice-to-haves
