About the position

Major, Lindsey & Africa's Interim Legal Talent group is seeking a Temp-to-Perm Commercial Paralegal for a prestigious financial services firm based in New York City. This role is designed for an experienced paralegal who is career-focused and possesses a strong background in commercial finance. The successful candidate will be expected to work full-time, five days a week, in the office, contributing to a dynamic legal team. The position offers the potential for immediate conversion to a permanent role, along with a competitive compensation package that includes base salary, bonuses, and benefits such as 401k matching and health insurance. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience, combining both law firm and in-house experience in commercial finance. This role requires dual reporting into the legal team and senior counsel, and the paralegal will assist with various legal department needs, including filings, contract review and management, and maintaining entity-related records. The candidate should be adept at document and data management, as well as the entity management process, ensuring that all corporate documents and commercial contracts are prepared and reviewed accurately. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is not only detail-oriented but also possesses excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously. The candidate should be innovative, consistently striving to improve processes, and able to thrive in a fast-paced team environment. A Bachelor’s Degree is required, and candidates who have a history of job-hopping will not be considered, as we seek someone who is committed to a long-term career as a paralegal.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with various legal department needs including filings, contract review and management, and entity related records.
  • Assist with document and data management.
  • Assist with the entity management process.
  • Support all manner of transactions related to commercial contracts.
  • Manage the contract lifecycle and all related needs, including review and deal closing processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial finance as a paralegal, with a combination of law firm and in-house experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Experience in preparation and review of corporate documents, commercial contracts, and related documents.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with the contract lifecycle and management of commercial contracts.
  • Ability to work autonomously and think outside the box.
