About the position

As AppleTree grows our Every Child Ready network, our need for local early education expertise is increasing. We are thrilled to recruit an Assessment Coordinator who will be responsible for providing program and operational support for the Every Child Ready Assessment Program. This temporary position is expected to last until May 30, 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Co-facilitate and support professional development for teachers and instructional leaders throughout Washington DC (in-person or virtual), New York, Connecticut, Texas, and Missouri (virtual for non-DC partners)
  • Assist with recruiting and onboarding external contractors to conduct live classroom quality observations which may include reviewing scoresheets and transcript forms, co-scoring with contractors, and preparing contractor documentation (e.g., logistics slide-deck, printing materials, creating contractor folders) for training
  • Prepare for assessment cycles reviewing assessment materials and resources (e.g., protocols, slide deck, response bank) and drafting protocols for schools as needed
  • Maintain contact with assigned assessment schools during assessment cycles to support teachers (e.g., data entry, consultations, refresher training) as needed. Provide in-person assessment support (e.g., assessment administration, co-scoring) to assigned schools in Washington, DC, as requested by the school leaders during each assessment wave.
  • Conduct weekly virtual or in-person office hours for assessment-related questions for teachers during pre-defined cadence during assessment cycles
  • Collect data through various means such as classroom observations (CLASS PK/CLASS K-3) and student assessments as needed in Washington, DC, New York, and Missouri
  • Contribute to item review and revision of the Every Child Ready Revised Assessments and other measurement tools
  • Support and maintain the assessment and classroom quality courses on Canvas. This may include sending course announcements and providing support to course users as needed
  • Support the tracking of students, teachers, school-level demographic data as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of student assessment and classroom quality data and reports
  • Maintain Implementation Calendar and stay abreast of upcoming assessment and classroom quality activities
  • Perform operational and assessment-related duties as assigned for the Implementation Team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in education, psychology, social sciences, or a related field
  • Minimum of two years of experience working in an educational/psychometric setting
  • Knowledge in early learning and education assessment strongly preferred
  • Experience with observational measures of classroom quality. Certification in CLASS PK is preferred
  • Highly detail-oriented and able to multitask
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively
  • Knowledge of current research, best practices, and trends in assessment preferred
  • Technology proficiency in GSuite, Microsoft Office, and willingness to learn new technology platforms as needed
