About the position

The Temporary Assistant Attorney General II will perform attorney work for the Child Support Division, representing the state's interests in judicial and administrative matters. This role involves providing legal advice, consultation, and technical assistance to the Child Support Program and its staff, as well as supporting Office of the Attorney General attorneys in various legal proceedings.

Responsibilities

• Assist Office of the Attorney General Attorneys in legal proceedings related to child support and medical support.
• Represent the State of Texas in administrative hearings.
• Provide legal advice, consultation, and technical assistance to the Child Support Program.
• Develop and deliver training for staff.
• Conduct legal research and prepare sound legal opinions.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
• Must be licensed to practice Law in the state of Texas.
• One year of experience in handling Family Law cases in Texas.
• Experience in handling a high volume legal practice.
• Skill in legal writing, mediation, and negotiation.
