About the position

The Temporary AW Treatment O&M Tech Associate position is responsible for assisting with the operation, maintenance, and repair of water treatment facilities. This role involves performing process control tasks, preventative maintenance, and monitoring equipment to ensure efficient plant operations. The position is temporary, lasting up to six months with the possibility of extension, and requires a valid Texas Class C Driver License.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with process control tasks such as basic flow control, sampling, and basic laboratory testing.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks including lubrication and changing equipment oil/fluids.
  • Assist with predictive and corrective maintenance on specialized equipment such as pumps and valves.
  • Conduct routine rounds of the facilities to monitor treatment processes and identify mechanical problems.
  • Monitor data from SCADA systems and computerized control systems to make basic process changes as directed.
  • Maintain plant operations and maintenance records using log books and databases.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in a similar work environment such as process control or plant operations.
  • Must obtain appropriate TCEQ License within one year of employment.
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver License.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in mechanical maintenance including auto mechanics or machine maintenance.
  • Experience with plant process and maintenance or lift station/pump station maintenance.
