About the position

The Temporary CFO will oversee the financial operations of a nonprofit organization, ensuring effective budgeting, financial policy establishment, and operational analysis. This role is crucial for providing strategic recommendations based on financial insights and managing the finance department's activities. The position is expected to last approximately three months, with the potential for permanent placement.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the company's budgeting and establish financial policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and analyze operations and results, developing and preparing reports.
  • Counsel and direct others within the finance department.
  • Manage the work of the finance department staff and develop departmental goals and objectives.
  • Assist with operational and strategic issues as they arise, providing strategic recommendations based on financial analysis.
  • Oversee risk management and safety programs to protect organizational assets and ensure the health and safety of clients and employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field from an accredited college or university and at least ten (10) years of experience, or a Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field from an accredited college or university and at least six (6) years of experience.
  • At least one year of experience in nonprofit accounting.
  • Experience in managing all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
