About the position
The Temporary Claims Technician II position at Central California Alliance for Health involves supporting claims processing for a six-month assignment. The role is remote and requires verification, processing, and adjudication of claims while adhering to program policies. The position includes a rigorous month-long training program and is designed to ensure timely and accurate payment of medical services to network providers.
Responsibilities
- Verify, process, and/or adjudicate claims.
- Apply detailed consideration and standards in pending claims.
- Release claims from pend edits and ensure proper application of program policy related to claim entry and analysis.
- Assist with training new hires and cross-training other Claims Technicians.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience with claims processing in an automated claim environment, or an Associate's degree and a minimum of one/two years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of medical insurance and Explanation of Benefits.
- Familiarity with general office equipment, including personal computers, telephones, photocopiers, and fax machines.
- Proficiency in Windows-based PC systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a hybrid work environment.
- Ability to keep current on claims processing practices and procedures.
