About the position

The Town of Pembroke is seeking a dedicated and organized Temporary Clerk for the Treasurer's Office. This role involves handling key financial and administrative tasks while providing excellent customer service to residents and colleagues. The ideal candidate will have experience in municipal or customer service environments and possess strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Accept, process, and balance turnovers from all town departments.
  • Maintain the Treasurer/Collectors Office Bonds and renewals.
  • Manage tax title accounts in line with Massachusetts General Laws.
  • Implement payroll and benefits for School and Town employees, including necessary reporting.
  • Process accounts payable and account funding.
  • Perform bank reconciliations.
  • Serve as the front-line communicator with residents, providing exemplary service and support.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree/Certification in Business or Customer Relations is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in public service, customer service, or municipal services.
  • Ability to meet mandatory CORI requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with People GIS is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to take direction and complete assignments efficiently.
