About the position

Kemper is seeking a highly motivated Cybersecurity Analyst to join our Chief Information Security Office. This position plays a critical role in the Cybersecurity Operations Service group, where the Analyst will assist in the review and implementation of cybersecurity initiatives across a large and complex environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to cyber threats and supporting Cybersecurity Operations in improving processes and technologies. This hybrid role requires working in the local Kemper office as needed, providing a balance between remote and in-office work. As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you will analyze and respond to various cyber threats, gaining expertise in several cybersecurity technologies and defensive domains. You will maintain partnerships with stakeholders and assist with end-to-end Incident Response remediation. Monitoring technical security controls and detection technologies will be a key responsibility, along with providing cybersecurity threat recommendations to stakeholders and decision-makers. You will leverage both internal and external resources to research threats, vulnerabilities, and intelligence on various attackers and their infrastructure. Additionally, you will serve as a responsive and helpful engagement point for technology teams during Incident Response activities. Assessing internal and external networks to define and monitor Kemper's attack surface will also be part of your duties. This position is essential in ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and data, contributing significantly to our overall cybersecurity posture.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and respond to cyber threats.

Requirements

  • Certifications such as CySA+, GSEC, SSCP, etc.
  • Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK Framework.
  • Knowledge of technologies such as networking including ports and protocols, operating systems and indicators of compromise, cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of identity and access methods and technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively relate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT or Security field preferred.
