About the position

The Data Collection Technician (Vehicle) plays a crucial role in supporting an autonomous driving project by capturing data on controlled access roads under various conditions. This position involves hands-on work with vehicles equipped with sensors, ensuring the integrity of data collected by managing the transfer process of hard drives after daily operations. The technician will serve as a primary contact for the LINK project manager, coordinating logistics and communication within the team.

Responsibilities

• Basic equipment (instrumentation) understanding
• Data system support and light vehicle troubleshooting
• Nightly data transfer activities (remove HDD's, label HDD's, track HDD's, begin data transfer, repeat process for 5 to 10 vehicles in total)
• Create, document and communicate a data copy process back to program manager
• Daily communication, and weekly meetings with the program manager on data/HDD status

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Demonstrated experience being highly motivated and self-directed
• Proven experience leading projects
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Windows based computer systems
• Writing technical reports, SOPs, ISO quality documents
• Experience with standardized Quality Systems (ISO-9001 / 17025, MIL I/Q)
• Able to work evenings/weekends and/or travel (as required)
• Test Engineering (equipment, reporting, analysis, etc.)
• Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
• Sound understanding with project management fundamentals, e.g., work plans, schedules, resource plans, and status reports
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
• Hands-on problem solving and continuous improvement leadership
