About the position

The Temporary Data Entry Clerk position at The University of Texas at Austin is designed to provide advanced clerical support, specifically focusing on data entry functions related to the UT Works Lock and Key Services Key Module Project. The role involves coding, inputting, and retrieving data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality, and collaborating with other department personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, code, input and retrieve information using data entry functions.
  • Enter data from keying worksheets into Excel spreadsheets in preparation for transferring lock information into UTWorks Key module Program.
  • Evaluate and verify notes and reports for correctness and accuracy before entering information into Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ensure correctness and completeness of data that has been or is to be entered.
  • Maintain confidential records and files, ensuring security and confidentiality of information.
  • Confer with other department personnel as needed on data entry matters.
  • Compose routine correspondence.
  • Represent Lock & Key Services on special projects.
  • Perform related duties as required, including training new employees and working with other departments.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or GED.
  • Three years of experience in an office environment.
  • Two years of above average experience with data entry with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Two years intermediate experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Excellent telephone and email etiquette.
  • Current Class 'C' Texas Operator Driver License required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's degree or higher in business administration or similar.
  • More than three years of broad-based experience in an office environment.
  • Two or more years of above average experience with data entry with a high degree of accuracy.
  • More than two years of experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Experience with direct customer service.
