About the position

The Temporary Dining Director at Kings Reserve is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations within a senior living community. This role ensures compliance with food and sanitary standards while meeting financial expectations. The position requires strong leadership skills to manage staff and maintain high-quality meal service for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the preparation and serving of quality meals in accordance with portion control, special diets, scheduled menus, and sanitary regulations.
  • Develops menus and recipes.
  • Handles food ordering and inventory management.
  • Maintains daily food cost and ensures budgetary compliance.
  • Ensures knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and time and temperature requirements.
  • Acts as the facility's representative for health department inspections.
  • Cooks food in a timely manner and presents it in the best possible condition.
  • Ensures all kitchen equipment is in working order and kept clean.
  • Hires, trains, disciplines, and terminates departmental employees according to company policies.
  • Oversees the scheduling of all food service personnel to maintain budget compliance.
  • Maintains daily interaction with residents.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work overtime and be available every day including weekends until 12/1.
  • At least two to three years of full-time related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of culinary education and experience.
  • ServSafe Certified or equivalent certification.
  • Ability to supervise and manage employees.
  • Excellent customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills, and ability to multi-task.
