About the position

The Temporary Family Leader position at the University of Chicago involves supporting data collection and analysis for a research project focused on the transition between pediatric and adult care for children with special health care needs. The role requires collaboration with researchers and families to gather insights and contribute to the research team's understanding of the challenges faced by these families.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and revise recruiting materials and interview guide in collaboration with researchers.
  • Recruit local families from multiple clinics/sources for interviews.
  • Schedule and conduct interviews with families in collaboration with researchers either via Zoom or in person.
  • Ensure accurate transcription of interviews.
  • Collaborate with research team to analyze and interpret results of interviews.
  • Collaborate with researchers to present results for peer-reviewed publication and/or dissemination in policy-focused materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Personal experience as a primary caregiver for a child or young adult with complex medical conditions required.
  • Experience assisting with qualitative research preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to communicate fluently in Spanish and English.
  • Experience with meeting software for virtual interviews.
