About the position

The Temporary Financial Analyst 1 position at UC Irvine involves performing basic financial analysis and accounting duties within the Dean's Office. The role requires adherence to organizational policies and procedures while resolving routine issues and analyzing data. The successful candidate will engage in purchasing duties, review ledger entries, and support financial operations under management guidance.

Responsibilities

• Perform purchasing duties including KFS requisition documents and UCI PalCard management.
• Initiate Disbursement Vouchers and Travel and Entertainment documents.
• Review ledger entries for appropriate object code use and conduct basic accounting duties.
• Gather and organize information for basic financial analysis assignments.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing within the department.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in financial analysis or accounting.
• Basic knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.
• Ability to gather and organize information for financial analysis.
• Basic proficiency in spreadsheet and database software for financial reporting.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with University and KFS systems is preferred but can be trained.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of internal control practices.
