About the position
The Temporary GIS Analyst position at Riverside County Information Technology involves creating and managing ArcGIS Online applications, publishing map services, and developing web maps to support various departmental functions. The role also includes data maintenance, customer service, and address assignment for the County. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GIS technologies and data manipulation, with a focus on application development related to GIS.
Responsibilities
- Create ArcGIS Online applications and publish map services.
- Develop web maps and focused web applications to support departmental lines of business.
- Perform data maintenance and distribution tasks.
- Provide customer service and assign County addresses.
- Conduct quality control processes on GIS and attribute information.
- Consult with end users to determine GIS and system information needs.
- Develop project work plans and schedules, monitoring resources and budgets.
- Read and interpret technical documentation including data specifications and user requirements.
- Create hard copy and digital cartographic products using GIS software and databases.
- Maintain and update existing GIS datasets in Enterprise ArcGIS geodatabases.
Requirements
- Experience in ArcGIS Online and ESRI technologies.
- Proficient with MS Office suite and the ArcGIS platform.
- Ability to work within an ArcGIS Enterprise environment.
- Proficient data manipulation skills.
- Experience in processing large data sets in geodatabase format.
- Application development experience related to GIS.
- Programming skills in Python, JavaScript, SQL, VB script, HTML5, and web content management tools.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with VertiGIS software.
- Familiarity with spatial data analysis concepts.
