About the position

West Elm is seeking a Temporary Graphic Designer to join our dynamic and fast-paced brand creative team. This role is essential in providing production support, focusing on the creation of pixel-perfect digital collateral that aligns with our established templates and style guides. The Digital Production Designer will collaborate closely with designers and project managers to produce high-quality assets for various digital channels, including emails, social marketing, and web pages. The ideal candidate will have a strong appreciation for design, photography, and typography, and will be adept at adhering to precise technical specifications regarding image usage, media formats, and file organization. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-moving environment. The designer will be responsible for maintaining organized production files, updating digital template libraries, and ensuring that all team members are informed of any new templates or guidelines. In this role, quick problem-solving skills are crucial, as the designer will often need to deliver assets within tight deadlines, sometimes in 24 hours or less. The candidate should be proactive in seeking innovative solutions across all media channels, contributing to the overall success of the brand's creative output.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver assets for email, paid marketing, social, web, and other digital channels
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with art directors, marketing managers, production manager, project managers, and other cross-functional stakeholders
  • Build and maintain organized production files
  • Work closely with the team to streamline and develop workflows
  • Maintain digital template libraries and keep team members updated on new templates or guidelines
  • Problem-solve and think quickly to deliver fast turnaround when required
  • Strive for better, more innovative solutions across all media channels

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Digital/Graphic Design or related field
  • At least 2 years of digital production experience; luxury or home experience is a plus
  • Meticulously organized with careful attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to communicate clearly with peers and across disciplines
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously
  • Ability to exercise initiative in a changing environment
  • Dedication to delivering high-quality, organized final projects
  • Ability to meet deadlines and react to business needs and fluctuations in workload
  • Proficient in Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and project management software
  • Knowledge of HTML5 is a plus
  • Ability to perform work onsite in the Brooklyn corporate office full-time
