About the position

Lockton is currently seeking a high-energy Graphic Designer who is looking for an opportunity to utilize their skills and experience in a production design role within a supportive and creative team environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing a variety of high-quality, creative service deliverables for internal associates, following established design best practices and proofreading procedures. This role requires effective communication of project status and deadlines to supervisors to ensure that personal and departmental goals are met or exceeded. Additionally, the Graphic Designer will review and update the department's Graphics Procedure Manual as assigned and complete special projects as requested by leadership. The position also involves serving as a resource to team members for creative ideas and technical software issues or questions. The most qualified candidate will possess a degree in graphic arts or equivalent education and/or work experience, along with in-depth knowledge of InDesign software. A working knowledge of PowerPoint, Illustrator, Photoshop, Word, and Excel is also required. Experience in photo and/or video editing is considered a plus. The candidate should demonstrate high-level verbal and written communication skills, including grammatical expertise, effective multi-tasking abilities, and strong organizational and time management skills. The ability to prioritize heavy workloads to meet time-sensitive deadlines is essential. The position requires the candidate to be present in the physical office two days per week, with availability to work short-notice overtime hours as needed. This is a temporary position with the option to transition to full-time should candidate performance align with business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of high-quality, creative service deliverables for internal Associates following established design best practices and proofreading procedures.
  • Communicate project status and deadlines to supervisor(s) to ensure personal and department goals are met or exceeded.
  • Review and update department Graphics Procedure Manual as assigned.
  • Complete special projects as assigned and serve as a resource to team members for creative ideas and technical software issues or questions.
  • Additional responsibilities as requested by leadership.

Requirements

  • Degree in graphic arts or other equivalent education and/or work experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of InDesign software.
  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint, Illustrator, Photoshop, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience in photo and/or video editing (a plus).
  • High-level verbal and written communication skills including grammatical expertise (sentence structure, punctuation, paragraph formation, grammar, and proofreading skills).
  • Effective multi-tasking skills with the ability to go from mid-level creative projects to required daily tasks.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize heavy workloads to meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to be present in the physical office 2 days per week (hybrid scheduling).
  • Availability to work short-notice overtime hours on an as-needed basis.
