About the position

The Temporary Human Resources Specialist will oversee the Human Resources Department at the RJKCCC, ensuring that payroll and personnel processes are handled efficiently and professionally. This role involves maintaining accurate payroll records, collaborating with department heads, and ensuring compliance with Salvation Army policies while upholding employee confidentiality and rights.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and operate the Human Resources Department to ensure prompt and professional processing of required work.
  • Oversee all payroll needs, including communication, documentation, verification, and inspection for accuracy of payroll elements.
  • Collaborate with department heads to maintain accurate timecards and assist with corrections and adjustments.
  • Record and submit accurate instructor payment requests.
  • Submit payroll biweekly to the Divisional payroll department by the deadline.
  • Maintain records of all payroll documents and ensure proper filing and scanning.
  • Manage employee giving submissions and record keeping.
  • Maintain quality communication with partners at Divisional Headquarters to resolve concerns.
  • Create and maintain employee personnel files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with policies.
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings and perform other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field preferred or two years of related experience.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling HR records and information.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook email).
  • Ability to learn and utilize multiple software programs and online platforms.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, resourcefulness, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.
  • Sensitivity and awareness of diverse cultural perspectives and ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Service-oriented team player who can work independently and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Accurate handling of qualitative and quantitative data.
