About the position
The Temporary Instructional Assistant - ESL/ELD position at Floyd Light Middle School is designed to support English as a Second Language (ESL) and English Language Development (ELD) programs. This role involves assisting teachers in providing educational support to students, particularly those from diverse linguistic backgrounds, for a duration of 6 hours per day, 5 days a week, through June 13, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in implementing ESL/ELD curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Support students in their learning and language development.
- Provide individualized attention to students as needed.
- Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assist with classroom management and organization.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with students, preferably in an educational setting.
- Bilingual skills preferred, especially in English and another language.
