About the position

The Temporary IT Support Specialist position at Partners Health Management is designed to provide essential support to the IT Department for a duration of up to 12 weeks. This role is critical in ensuring that the technology infrastructure operates smoothly and efficiently across various office locations in North Carolina. The specialist will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including the setup of new computers, networks, and software for new employees, as well as providing general backup support to the IT team. This includes processing emails and ensuring that excellent customer service is delivered to end users. The position also involves inventory management of IT equipment and the delivery and pickup of equipment to and from office locations throughout the 14 counties served by Partners Health Management. The work schedule is flexible, primarily during weekdays from 8 AM to 5 PM, with an average of 30 hours per week. The role requires frequent travel to various office locations, making it essential for the candidate to be adaptable and willing to commute as needed. The position is part of an employee referral program, meaning candidates must be referred by a current employee of Partners Health Management. It is important to note that this temporary position does not offer benefits and is limited to a maximum of 12 weeks. In this role, the IT Support Specialist will also be tasked with maintaining existing computer systems, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and creating surveys to capture data on end users' devices. The ability to communicate effectively with users, especially those who may not be technically savvy, is crucial. The specialist will need to work under time constraints and demonstrate strong organizational skills, creativity, and critical thinking to meet departmental goals and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Set up new computers, networks, and software for new employees.
  • Provide support to IT staff by answering phones, processing emails, and responding to user requests.
  • Work with IT resources to image new systems and add software applications where appropriate.
  • Install operating systems and other computer software applications on new computers.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure that all technology is working properly for the company.
  • Collect, analyze, and store data for inventory management.
  • Support the maintenance of existing computer systems, including troubleshooting problems with hardware and software.
  • Create a survey to capture end users' devices that have been deployed.
  • Deliver and pickup of equipment to/from other PHM office locations as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • General knowledge of computers and related information technology devices.
  • General knowledge of the software packages utilized by the agency.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude through strong analytical skills, problem identification and resolution, organizational skills, creativity, and critical thinking.
  • Excellent customer service and written and oral communication skills required in working with users and team members.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with users who may not be coherent in clarifying problem situations.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and other demands.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to display a positive attitude and show initiative to meet departmental goals and customer expectations.

Nice-to-haves
