About the position

The Temporary Medical Administrative Assistant at Healix Infusion Therapy, LLC is responsible for providing support to patients and caregivers during their visits for infusion therapy treatments. This role is essential in ensuring smooth operations within the clinic, particularly during a medical leave coverage period. The position requires strong customer service skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, with the potential for future full-time opportunities for those who excel in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all patients and caregivers upon arrival
  • Professionally answer all incoming calls from patients, medical practice, and Healix corporate staff
  • Conduct phone screenings and follow-up as required and requested
  • Properly communicate patient financial responsibility to staff
  • Ensure patients are provided payment information and assist with collection and posting of patient payments
  • Perform data entry services for the clinical staff as requested by a pharmacist and/or nurse
  • Complete all initial RMS data entry for new referrals
  • Assist clinical staff with referrals and process all verifications timely through RMS
  • Serve as the Infusion Centers Central Scheduler
  • Enter patient schedule into practice and Healix systems to ensure schedules are up-to-date at all times
  • Print and process all lab slips as required
  • Ensure all patients are provided follow-up calls as a courtesy reminder of upcoming appointments
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and track orders for delivery
  • Assist with the daily housekeeping to ensure the infusion center area is clean and presentable for patients and physicians

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and some college hours in related courses, recent related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 2 years experience in a medical office setting with front office duties
  • Prior experience with verifications and reimbursements
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
  • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in an office-based setting
  • Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment
  • Microsoft Office, EMR, and other medical software experience preferred
