About the position

As a Temporary Medicare Supplement Underwriter I, you will be an integral part of our underwriting support team, focusing on the collection of essential underwriting requirements through various communication channels, including phone, email, and business applications. This role is designed for detail-oriented individuals who excel in problem-solving and possess strong communication skills. You will be responsible for reviewing Medicare Supplement underwritten applications, pulling cases from a queue, and ensuring that all necessary information is collected accurately and efficiently. In this position, you will engage with customers by placing outbound calls to gather pertinent information and answering inbound calls from customers who are returning previous inquiries. Your ability to navigate through multiple computer systems (3-6 systems) will be crucial in determining customer eligibility and addressing their needs effectively. You will also be expected to demonstrate learning agility, taking ownership of your assigned workload while promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion within the team. This role offers the flexibility of remote work, with all necessary equipment provided to perform your job duties. You will work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM CST, and as a temporary associate, you will accrue vacation time and receive paid holidays during your employment. Responsibilities

  • Review Medicare Supplement underwritten applications and pull cases from a queue.
  • Place outbound calls to collect pertinent information from customers.
  • Answer inbound calls from customers that are returning previous phone calls.
  • Use business knowledge to determine the specific questions that are asked, as well as determine a customer's eligibility.
  • Navigate through 3-6 computer systems.

Requirements

  • Previous customer service experience and ability to create and build relationships with customers.
  • Able to navigate multiple computer systems effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask effectively, work under pressure, meet deadline requirements, and make decisions about customer applications.
  • Ability to demonstrate learning agility in key job functions, takes end-to-end ownership of assigned workload.
  • Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously.
