About the position

The Coordinator of Special Programs at the University of Texas at Dallas is responsible for coordinating administrative and reporting activities for outreach programs focused on child development. This temporary position supports the Grow With Me and Play With Me programs, which involve community-based developmental screenings and early parent-child learning classes. The role includes adapting these programs into Mandarin and requires training in conducting developmental screenings and leading classes in Mandarin.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate administrative and reporting activities for assigned programs or projects.
  • Support the Grow With Me program, a community-based developmental screening initiative.
  • Assist in the Play With Me program, an early parent-child playful learning class.
  • Adapt outreach programs into Mandarin for bilingual community engagement.
  • Conduct developmental screeners in English and Mandarin at community screening fairs.
  • Attend and lead the Play With Me program site in Mandarin during the spring.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in child development, early childhood education, psychology, or a related field.
  • Employment or practicum experience working with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and/or their families.
  • Bilingual in Mandarin and English.
