About the position

The EQUIPD Study aims to refine and implement a novel approach to address patient-related barriers to nonpharmacologic pain treatments (NPTs) specifically for Black patients with comorbid pain and depression. This role involves participating as a graduate research assistant in a part-time capacity, contributing to research methodology, health communication, and health disparities. The position offers opportunities to engage in various research projects, including patient recruitment, data management, and analysis, within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient consent and recruitment for research studies.
  • Deliver interventions and transcribe interviews as needed.
  • Design survey and interview guides, and manage data.
  • Conduct data management and analysis for ongoing research projects.
  • Support the research team in preparing presentations, abstracts, and peer-reviewed manuscripts.
  • Participate in grant writing activities.

Requirements

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree and enrollment in or completion of the first year of a graduate program in psychology or public health.
  • Experience in delivering behavioral health interventions or engaging in chronic pain research is preferred.
  • Prior knowledge of medical terminology and/or research experience is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong writing and grammar skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and interact with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Legally able to work in the United States or eligible for student work authorization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative data analytics.
  • Familiarity with large data sets.
