The City of Galesburg is seeking applications for a Temporary Data Entry Clerk position within the Communications Division of the Police Department. This part-time role is compensated at a rate of $16.00 per hour and is designed to assist with various administrative tasks within the Public Safety Building. The position is temporary and will require the selected candidate to work no more than 19 hours per week, primarily during the day shift from Monday to Friday, with the possibility of weekend work as needed. The Data Entry Clerk will be responsible for a range of essential functions, including the entry of orders of protection into the LEADS system, processing and filing these orders, and handling warrants. This includes entering data into LEADS and Access systems, researching and validating suspect identification, and filing warrant paperwork. Additionally, the clerk will input citations into the ICIS records management system and perform other duties as assigned by the department. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and have the ability to obtain and maintain LEADS certification. A pre-employment background check is required. The ideal candidate will have one to three years of customer service experience, a working knowledge of spreadsheet software and word processing, and strong organizational skills to maintain clerical records. Excellent customer service skills, effective communication abilities, and compliance with the City's safety procedures are also essential for this role.
