About the position

The Temporary Research Assistant position at Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) involves supporting grant-funded research and demonstration projects within the Department of Psychiatry. The role includes daily communication with the Principal Investigator and faculty, recruiting study participants, conducting research activities, and providing coordinative assistance to ensure project operations run smoothly. This position is fully on-site and is designed for individuals with a background in research and relevant educational qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Daily communication with Principal Investigator and related faculty and staff on assigned projects.
  • Recruiting study participants, scheduling study visits, obtaining informed consents for study participation, and maintaining necessary study documentation.
  • Conducting research activities including development and distribution of surveys, facilitating focus groups and/or interviews, and quantitative data analysis/programming with guidance of PI and related faculty.
  • Drafting reports and articles under the guidance of PI and related faculty.
  • Providing coordinative assistance to PI and related faculty/staff by coordinating projects, programs, functions, and organizing project operations.
  • Supporting projects through tracking progress, organizing evaluation protocols, managing paperwork, preparing materials, and tracking publications and presentations.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field plus one (1) year of related research experience preferred.
  • Experience and proficiency using PC software programs including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Adobe Professional, and Internet.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Professional document creation and markup.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using statistical software such as R, Python, Stata, SPSS, and SAS.
