About the position

The Temporary SharePoint Administrator will be responsible for managing and optimizing the Microsoft 365 environment, specifically focusing on SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business. This role involves providing support, training, and governance best practices while ensuring compliance and security within the Microsoft ecosystem. The position is temporary, expected to last 6 months, with the possibility of extension or conversion to permanent employment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Microsoft 365 services, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business.
  • Add users, control access to document libraries, and set permissions.
  • Perform maintenance of the SharePoint platform, servers, and intranet.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SharePoint issues or malfunctions.
  • Provide SharePoint support and end-user training.
  • Perform data retrieval and backup procedures to prevent data loss.
  • Ensure sufficient storage space by performing clean-ups and archiving data.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations for enterprise deployments of SharePoint.
  • Understand, develop, and perform advanced PowerShell commands.
  • Maintain current industry knowledge of development concepts, best practices, and procedures for SharePoint solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures including STIG requirements.
  • Provide technical support to internal end users, addressing a wide range of endpoint and software issues.
  • Contribute to maintaining the Help Desk ticketing system including ticket resolution and reporting.
  • Participate in planning and execution of tasks related to the evaluation of new SharePoint features such as new updates coming in from Microsoft Online.
  • Perform typical system administrative activities such as backup, restore, and issue resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or similar.
  • At least 3 years' experience as a SharePoint administrator.
  • Solid knowledge of Windows operating systems, as well as SQL Server, Power BI, PowerShell, and Office 365.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint tools, including ULS Logs, workflows, and SharePoint forms for tasks.
  • Superb collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
