About the position

The Social Media Manager for the Roman Family Center for Decision Research at the University of Chicago will oversee the center's social media presence, focusing on promoting its mission and activities, particularly through the Mindworks initiative. This role involves developing and executing a social media strategy across various platforms to enhance engagement and participation in research activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the social media presence of the Roman Family Center for Decision Research and Mindworks: The Science of Thinking.
  • Create, execute, and manage the social media strategy for the center on platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Plan, build, maintain, and grow the Mindworks social media presence, aiming to increase visitor traffic and participation in research.
  • Translate the work and mission of the RF-CDR and Mindworks to a broad audience through multiple media and formats.
  • Provide information to Mindworks audiences about behavioral science and the importance of experimental research.
  • Support outreach and advertising initiatives to attract visitors to Mindworks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, organizational behavior, or marketing preferred.
  • Proven experience creating and managing social media content for a company or organization required.
  • Familiarity with methods of social science research experimentation preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Technical skills in multimedia editing applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premier, Canva, Instagram, and TikTok required.
