About the position

The University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) is seeking a motivated and technically proficient System Administrator to join our team on a part-time basis. This temporary position is crucial for maintaining and optimizing the IT infrastructure that supports our graduate programs. The successful candidate will work closely with staff and IT personnel to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of our systems. A key requirement for this role is proficiency in the SeaPal enrollment management system, which is essential for managing student enrollment and related processes effectively. As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, performing system updates, and ensuring that all IT systems are functioning optimally. You will also play a vital role in collaborating with various departments to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the academic success of our students by ensuring that the technological resources are available and effective. This is a temporary position, and the length of the assignment will be based on departmental needs, with the possibility of continuation. However, it is important to note that temporary assignments cannot exceed 11 consecutive months without a full 31-day break from employment. Employees in temporary positions are not considered permanent state employees and do not earn leave. Temporary employees are subject to the Affordable Care Act guidelines.

Responsibilities
