About the position

The Temporary Teacher at Franklin Academy is responsible for maintaining the continuity of teaching and learning during the extended absence of the regular teacher. This role involves developing lesson plans, managing classroom dynamics, and ensuring a positive learning environment for students. The teacher will work under the direction of a certified educator and is expected to fulfill all teaching responsibilities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develops lesson plans that motivate students to learn and participate.
• Maintains confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
• Provides timely data to students and parents for improvement in student achievement.
• Utilizes appropriate technology in teaching and learning processes.
• Demonstrates positive classroom results and trends.
• Creates a climate of openness, fairness, mutual respect, support, and inquiry.
• Collaborates effectively with school colleagues, parents, and the community to support student learning.
• Organizes students for effective instruction.
• Maintains discipline and classroom control to foster a safe learning environment.
• Ensures adequate supervision for the health, welfare, and safety of all students.
• Takes precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Reports student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority.
• Complies with school and state regulations and policies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by building administrators.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent (Preferred).
• Effective instructional delivery techniques and excellent communication skills.
• Takes initiative and is resourceful in problem solving.
• Positive interpersonal skills and ability to work well on a team.
• Successful results of criminal and employment background check and drug testing.
