About the position

The Temporary Theatre Arts Teacher at Davie County Schools is responsible for planning, organizing, and presenting instructional activities that facilitate student learning in theatre arts. This role aims to contribute to the educational and social development of students from January 27, 2025, through June 17, 2025. The teacher will manage instructional time, student behavior, and provide effective instructional feedback while interacting positively within the educational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials, supplies, and equipment for each lesson in advance.
  • Establish and enforce rules and procedures for student behavior and participation.
  • Begin lessons with a review of previous materials and introduce new learning objectives.
  • Monitor student performance and provide timely feedback on their work.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
  • Interact fairly and effectively with students, co-workers, parents, and the community.
  • Perform non-instructional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree in education or a related area qualifying for licensure as a teacher by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
  • Ability to use various classroom tools and equipment, including computers and special needs equipment.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment.
