About the position

The Warehouse position at Pella Corporation in Batavia, IL, is a full-time role focused on maintaining the productivity, efficiency, and safety of the warehouse operations. This position is temporary, lasting less than a year, and requires adherence to Pella's processes and safety protocols. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The role involves a variety of tasks that ensure the smooth operation of the warehouse, including the coordination of warehouse products and the use of radio frequency scanners. Employees in this position are responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, supplies, equipment, and products within the company, following documented duties and safety guidelines. Essential duties include complying with safety, quality, and warehouse requirements, following standard work procedures, and being capable of performing all general warehouse positions. Responsibilities also encompass pulling and loading outbound trucks, reading load lists and production schedules, receiving and unloading inbound trucks, verifying load lists, and moving materials to designated areas. Additionally, employees will sort and place warehouse materials according to predetermined sequences, assemble customer orders, and prepare parcels for delivery. The role requires the use of computers to verify order information and maintain Power Industrial Vehicle (PIV) certification to operate material handling equipment such as cherry pickers and forklifts.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with safety, quality, and warehouse requirements and procedures.
  • Follow standard work and adhere to Pella Safe Operating Procedures.
  • Perform all general warehouse positions as needed.
  • Pull and load outbound trucks based on shipping orders.
  • Read load lists, production schedules, and requisitions to determine items to be moved or distributed.
  • Receive and unload inbound trucks, verifying load lists and moving materials to designated areas.
  • Sort and place warehouse materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, marking materials with identifying information.
  • Arrange stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
  • Use computer systems to verify order information and completion.
  • Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications for shipping.
  • Maintain Power Industrial Vehicle (PIV) certification and operate material handling equipment.
  • Prepare parcels for truck delivery, small package delivery, or mail.
