This role of Tender & Project Purchasing Manager is pivotal in providing reliable cabling systems and smart energy solutions, including power accessories, to enhance efficiency and sustainability. The Tender & Project Purchasing Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating all purchasing-related activities throughout the lifecycle of tenders and projects. This includes preparing and managing procurement plans, defining purchasing strategies, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with Nexans purchasing procedures. The position requires excellent communication skills to facilitate information flow across various disciplines within our matrix organization. In this role, you will develop our US supply chain with a focus on local content, establish framework agreements with US suppliers, and support tenders and projects on all purchasing-related tasks. You will also prepare and evaluate offers to be presented to the tender/project team, ensuring fairness and competition in all purchasing processes. During project execution, you will ensure high-quality delivery and efficient execution while minimizing variations and claims through close collaboration with internal stakeholders and suppliers. As a member of the diverse and multicultural Tender & Project Purchasing team, you will engage with colleagues from Norway, the UK, and the US, sharing experiences and insights in weekly team meetings. Your contributions will be vital in satisfying both internal and external customers, and you will be encouraged to support and contribute to continuous improvements within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all purchasing related activities for tenders and projects.
  • Prepare and manage procurement plans for assigned tenders and projects.
  • Define purchasing strategies and negotiate contracts with suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with Nexans purchasing procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop the US supply chain with a focus on local content.
  • Establish framework agreements with US suppliers.
  • Support tenders and projects on all purchasing related tasks.
  • Prepare and evaluate offers to be presented to the tender/project team.
  • Ensure fair competition in all purchasing processes.
  • Monitor project execution to ensure high quality delivery and efficient execution.
  • Coordinate with all tender & project teams and maintain Procurement Plans according to Nexans Standards.
  • Provide necessary inputs for monthly reporting and support continuous improvements.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in procurement, particularly in the US market.
  • Postgraduate education preferred, but graduates will also be considered.
  • Proven track record in US procurement processes.
  • Good knowledge of the Marine Operations market.
  • Understanding of legal aspects of subcontracting, especially within marine operations.
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and improve.
  • Strong communication and cooperation skills.
