About the position

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is looking for an energetic and motivated Counselor who enjoys planning and leading our Camp activities for ages Kindergarten to 6th grade. Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers in the group and camp-wide and ensure a risk-free environment for all.
  • Maintain positive relationships with campers, parents, and staff.
  • Organize and maintain camp equipment, supplies, and property.
  • Actively participate in all aspects of the day camp schedule as assigned.
  • Maintain camp records including, but not limited to accident & incident reports, sign in/out sheets, attendance documents, etc.
  • Maintain ACA requirements/ratios and help others do the same.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age and/or have prior experience in working with children in a camp environment.
  • Must have tennis playing experience of 3 years minimum.
  • Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs.
  • Attend all required pre-camp and camp season trainings and meetings as scheduled.
  • Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings before first day of camp.
