About the position

The Elementary Tennis Coach & PE Teacher position at Calex Sports Inc. involves providing engaging tennis classes for elementary school students in grades K-3 across the Bay Area. This part-time role focuses on promoting physical activity and skill development in a fun environment, requiring a passion for working with children and a commitment to class management and communication with parents and school staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage a class size of 8 - 16 students aged 5-10 years old.
• Teach tennis classes using provided lesson plans.
• Attend a two-day training/shadowing session to familiarize with the program.
• Transport tennis equipment to and from class and set up necessary equipment.
• Take attendance and sign in and sign out students for each class.
• Interact with parents and school office staff as needed.
• Provide feedback for each student by the end of the session.
• Capture pictures of kids in action during sessions.

Requirements

• Must be 19+ years old upon application.
• Enjoy working with kids and managing a class in a professional manner.
• Flexibility, reliability, punctuality, and a professional, enthusiastic approach.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Carry a resilient, positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and within a small team.
• Have reliable transportation throughout the East and South Bay and Peninsula.
• Willingness to undergo a live scan background check prior to working.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous teaching or playing experience in tennis is preferred but not required.
• USPTA/PTR certification is preferred but not required.
