The Tennis Instructor Intern and Summer Camp Counselor position at Camp Manitou is designed for enthusiastic and mature leaders who are passionate about teaching and mentoring children in a camp setting. This role focuses on developing leadership skills while overseeing a group of campers, teaching tennis, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable camp experience. Staff members will collaborate with teammates to create memorable experiences and foster positive relationships with campers.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the direction, supervision, and organization of campers in their living unit and throughout the camp.
- Apply basic youth development principles in working with campers through effective communication and relationship development.
- Supervise campers at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Participate in the development and implementation of camp programs and activities.
- Lead and assist with instructing tennis and other activities, actively participating in all assigned program areas.
- Provide daily care for each camper, recognizing and addressing their personal health needs.
- Serve as a role model for campers and staff, demonstrating positive attitudes and behaviors.
- Set a good example regarding camp procedures, including sanitation and sportsmanship.
Requirements
