About the position

The City of Fort Wayne is seeking a Tennis Instructor to implement the Tennis Program under the direct supervision of the Tennis Coordinator. The instructor will be responsible for conducting day-to-day operations while adhering to safety rules and regulations. The role requires good judgment, independence, initiative, and professional expertise. The instructor will interact with the public, city employees, and outside agencies with professionalism and respect.

Responsibilities

• Instructs tennis lessons
• Supervises leagues, tournaments, and special events
• Maintains tennis courts as necessary
• Encourages and motivates children to attend regularly
• Records accurate daily attendance reports
• Collects and compiles program evaluations at the end of each session
• Maintains safety for each participant during activities and enforces discipline

Requirements

• One or more years of experience in Education, Recreation, Sports, or a related field working with children
• Must have transportation available at all times
• Good leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work with children ages 18 months to 12 years
• Must work until completion of programs
