About the position

The Tennis Professional at Bay Clubs LLC is responsible for promoting and teaching tennis activities, including clinics and private lessons, while achieving personal revenue goals. This role emphasizes exceptional customer service and hospitality to members and guests, under the direction of the Director of Tennis. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability for weekends and holidays, and involves maintaining a professional image and environment.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and teach tennis clinics, private lessons, and adult/junior/senior programs as assigned by the Director of Tennis.
  • Organize and maintain daily teaching schedule, including private and group lessons.
  • Achieve personal revenue goals each month.
  • Provide new member tennis orientations and evaluations, introducing them to the facility and its programming.
  • Encourage member participation in the Club's tennis events.
  • Attend Tennis Department staff meetings and General Staff Meetings as directed by Club Management.
  • Be available for posted Tennis Clinics or other job functions throughout the Club in emergency situations.
  • Represent the club professionally through image, dress, communication, and follow-through.
  • Maintain accurate records on all client exercise programs and progress.
  • Enforce all tennis department and club policies.
  • Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the tennis area.

Requirements

  • Current Tennis Professional certification from either USPTA or USPTR required.
  • Minimum two years of professional experience, including college and/or elite professional competition.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing principles and methods.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and apply deductive reasoning to solve them.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer software such as Word and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales and marketing within the sports industry.
  • Ability to develop tracking and report forms in Word and Excel.
