The successful candidate(s) will join our dynamic and collaborative department to contribute to teaching, scholarly, and service activities. The candidate should possess the capability to develop and teach both introductory and advanced computer science courses, including the above-mentioned areas, and is also expected to undertake program development in these domains. The candidate must be able to incorporate latest industry trends and best practices in the coursework and create an active and collaborative learning environment in the classroom. The candidate is expected to show professional development in the area of expertise, and mentor and advise undergraduate students. Other responsibilities include participation in curriculum development, course and program assessment, and departmental and university governance. The successful candidate for this position may be eligible for participation in Framingham State University's five-year National Science Foundation (NSF) Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP) grant program. This program seeks to increase success in STEM academic careers for faculty who are historically underrepresented minorities, particularly African Americans, Hispanic Americans, American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and Native Pacific Islanders. Benefits for eligible grant program participants include course reduction and monetary funds for establishing a research agenda, travel support, and cohort activities across three state universities. Eligibility for grant program participation is not a prerequisite for employment consideration for this or any other position at FSU. However, applicants who fit the grant program eligibility criteria are strongly encouraged to apply.
