About the position

The Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering is seeking applications for tenured or tenure-track faculty positions in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, focusing on Biomaterials and Microphysiological Systems. The successful candidates will develop innovative research programs utilizing organ-on-a-chip technologies and microfluidic tissue-engineered models to advance understanding in human biology, disease modeling, drug discovery, and precision medicine. Collaboration with various university-wide initiatives is encouraged, and candidates will contribute to the university's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a cutting-edge research program in Biomaterials and Microphysiological Systems.
  • Leverage MPS technologies to explore new avenues in physiology and disease mechanisms.

  • Contribute to teaching excellence at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Genomics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish a strong, independent, multidisciplinary research program.
  • Commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
