About the position

The University of Chicago's Department of Neurology is seeking a Tenured Full Professor to hold the Jack Miller Professorship. The appointee will focus on conducting research aimed at finding a cure for peripheral neuropathy, particularly idiopathic peripheral neuropathy, while leading the Department's research program in this area. The role also includes teaching responsibilities at the graduate and/or undergraduate level and supervising students and trainees.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research to seek a cure for peripheral neuropathy, especially idiopathic peripheral neuropathy.
  • Lead the Department's peripheral neuropathy research program.
  • Collaborate with members of the Neuromuscular Program and other programs and centers.
  • Teach at the graduate and/or undergraduate level.
  • Supervise students and trainees.

Requirements

  • PhD in neurosciences, genetics, or an equivalent area, or a medical doctorate or equivalent.
  • If an MD, must hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois and be board certified or eligible in Neurology.
  • A history of extramural funding.
