About the position

The T4/T5 Modernization Assistant Project Manager at Jacobs is responsible for supporting the Project Manager in overseeing the design and construction activities for the Terminal 4/5 Modernization project at Los Angeles International Airport. This role focuses on managing project scope, schedule, and operational interfaces to enhance passenger processing and connectivity, while ensuring quality standards and safety protocols are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Support the PM in managing the scope, cost, schedule, and operational interfaces of the T4/T5 Modernization project.
  • Act as the primary liaison and airport/owner representative for the project.
  • Develop the RFP and oversee the procurement process for designers and contractors.
  • Ensure project completion within budget and schedule while adhering to contractual obligations.
  • Plan and define program goals, developing in-depth knowledge of owner objectives and airport policies.
  • Supervise and control the execution of all technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the project.
  • Manage project scope to meet or exceed project goals and objectives.
  • Conduct field surveys and investigations to capture detailed field conditions for strategic decisions.
  • Maintain documentation on the approved scope of work, including agreements, reports, and specifications.
  • Oversee the design process and manage the Design Review Team through all phases of design.
  • Monitor the permitting process and oversee construction to mitigate obstacles.
  • Prepare reports summarizing construction progress for senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience, preferably on airport projects.
  • Experience managing projects valued over $10 million.
  • Knowledge of various delivery methods including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR, and Design/Build.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Optional certifications such as AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP.
  • Ability to work in CAD or REVIT.
