The Terminal Manager III is responsible for overseeing a transportation terminal, managing a team of up to 200 employees across multiple shifts in a fast-paced environment. This role involves ensuring the efficient operation of LTL (Less Than Truckload) services while maintaining safety and compliance with company policies. The Terminal Manager will lead terminal employees, manage customer relationships, and implement strategies to meet business goals and KPIs. Strong leadership and customer service skills are essential for success in this position.

  • Lead, guide, and direct terminal employees, setting goals and monitoring performance.
  • Manage an efficient, clean, and safe LTL operation.
  • Oversee hiring, training, and terminations, ensuring compliance with company guidelines.
  • Enforce understanding and compliance with company policies, safety rules, and government regulations.
  • Develop and deliver strategies to provide superior service to customers.
  • Implement and monitor revenue, service goals, expenses, profits, and budgets.
  • Create and implement an annual business plan for the terminal, including quarterly reviews and P&L analysis.
  • Support customer relationships and oversee profit and cost controls.
  • Manage all terminal functions, including dock operations and scheduling for timely freight deliveries.
  • Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions for continuous improvement.
  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years leadership experience in the LTL industry preferred.
  • Previous experience managing an LTL terminal operation preferred.
  • Good computer skills (AS400 and MS Office a plus).
  • Proven leadership, team building, and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Excellent customer focus and strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, mentor, and terminate employees.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to create, implement, and monitor training programs.
  • Strong work ethic and good problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a fast-paced logistics environment.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations in transportation.
