About The Position

The Terminal Operator position at BWC Terminals is an entry-level role focused on the safe and efficient loading, unloading, and blending of hazardous and non-hazardous liquid products. The operator is responsible for adhering to operational procedures and ensuring compliance with safety regulations while interacting professionally with clients and co-workers. This role requires a commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement in terminal operations.

Requirements

• High School degree or GED.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to obtain a TWIC Card.
• Basic computer skills.
• Customer service focus.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle, track mobile, forklift, boiler, and similar equipment.
• Ability to wear safety equipment including respirator, shoes, goggles, gloves, etc.
• Mechanically inclined with skills in connecting pipelines, hoses, and similar equipment.
• Ability to perform basic math and read documents related to chemical handling and storage.
• Effective communication skills with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to work independently with general direction from supervisor.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a similar operational role in a terminal or logistics environment.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance in hazardous material handling.

Responsibilities

• Complete all loading/unloading per established operational procedures and regulations.
• Observe the loading/unloading of vessels.
• Safely and efficiently load/unload/blend hazardous and non-hazardous trucks and railcars.
• Align tanks for tank-to-tank transfer/blend of products by gauging tanks and opening appropriate valves before turning on pumps for transfer.
• Assist contractors in maintenance operations as necessary.
• Use heavy equipment, hoses, and similar items for operations.
• Interact and communicate with clients and co-workers in a professional manner.
• Identify problems and find appropriate solutions in a timely manner.
• Support team efforts and actively learn from other team members.
• Perform preventive and regular maintenance duties of the Terminal and general housekeeping of the work area.
• Comply with regulatory and company health, safety, environmental, and security requirements.
