About the position

The Terraform Engineer - GCP role involves leading complex cloud technology initiatives and automating the provisioning of cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The position requires collaboration with various teams to design, optimize, and document engineering aspects of the cloud platform while ensuring the integration and delivery of cloud-based systems. The engineer will also analyze and resolve technical challenges, contributing to the development of standards and best practices for large-scale technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex technology Cloud initiatives with broad impact.
• Act as a key contributor in automating the provisioning of Cloud Infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Make decisions in developing standards and best practices for engineering and large-scale technology solutions.
• Design, optimize, and document the engineering aspects of the Cloud platform.
• Lead and share understanding of industry best practices and new technologies.
• Review and analyze complex technology solutions in Cloud for strategic business objectives.
• Collaborate with key technical experts and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues.
• Build and enable Cloud infrastructure, automate orchestration for GCP.
• Work in a globally distributed team to provide innovative Cloud-centric solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Team and vendors to develop and deploy Cloud services.
• Gather and analyze data to diagnose the root cause of Cloud issues and implement solutions.

Requirements

• Software Engineering experience or equivalent through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and building complex infrastructure programmatically with IaC tools.
• Hands-on experience with IaC tools Terraform and GitHub.
• Strong understanding of GCP networking services such as VPC, Cloud VPN, and Cloud Load Balancing.
• Knowledge of Cloud service offerings such as Data, Analytics, AI/ML on GCP.
• Experience with at least three key services: Big Query, Composer, Vertex AI, Document AI, Agent Builder, DataProc, Data Catalog, Notebook.
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols, security, and compliance standards.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools for network provisioning and configuration.
• Knowledge of Cloud service offerings on Security and Data Protection.

Nice-to-haves

• Cloud certification on GCP.
• Exposure to Cloud governance and logging/monitoring tools.
• Experience with Agile, CI/CD, DevOps concepts, and SRE principles.
• Proficient in container-based solution services and Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Experience in scripting (Shell, Python).
• Good understanding of networking, firewalls, load balancing concepts, and database security.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
