About the position

The Territory Business Development Account Manager position is a full-time role based in Fort McMurray, Alberta, focusing on account management and business development within the Oil Sands region. This position serves as the primary point of contact for all customer-related activities, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with local technical support staff, corporate engineering, and manufacturing departments. The role is pivotal in driving growth by developing new business opportunities and expanding product line offerings to existing customers. The successful candidate will report directly to the L&H Canada General Manager and will be expected to conduct all job activities with a strong commitment to safety for both employees and customers. In this role, the Account Manager will develop, implement, and execute strategic plans aimed at acquiring and growing new customers. Responsibilities include overseeing all sales and account management duties, providing direct sales and production support to customers, and maintaining strong working relationships with various stakeholders. The Account Manager will liaise between customers and internal departments to ensure that customer requirements are met, including managing quotations, proposals, deliveries, payments, and warranty returns. Additionally, the position involves managing annual sales projection budgets and providing regular performance updates. The Account Manager will also monitor the performance of components through audits and inspections, create detailed reports for customers, and support field service personnel in planning and executing onsite service work. The role requires assisting in the development and implementation of new product designs based on field performance and customer feedback, as well as managing local inventory of spare parts through regular audits. This position demands a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for account management in the region.
  • Develop, implement, and execute plans to acquire and grow new customers in the Oil Sands region.
  • Oversee all sales and account management duties for customers in the region.
  • Provide direct sales and production support to customers throughout the Fort McMurray region.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, representing L&H core values.
  • Liaise between customers and various internal personnel and departments to meet customer requirements.
  • Manage annual sales projection budgets and provide regular performance updates.
  • Negotiate new contracts with existing and new customers.
  • Monitor performance of components through audits and inspections, creating detailed reports for customers.
  • Support field service personnel in planning and executing onsite service work.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new product designs based on customer feedback.
  • Manage local inventory of spare parts through regular audits.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a customer-facing Sales/Technical Support/Customer Service/Marketing role.
  • Experience with fixed and mobile mining equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, team building, and conflict management skills.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to identify, assess, and solve problems in a timely manner.
  • Commitment to provide the highest level of customer service.
  • Demonstrable capacity to work in a team environment as well as independently as a self-starter.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a desire to learn to support technical inquiries.
  • Broad understanding of heavy industrial services, specifically welding, machining, mechanics, and the mining aftermarket business.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, specifically Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, Projects, and PowerPoint.
  • Aptitude to utilize precision measurement equipment for auditing components.
